Common questions

How much does it cost to rent a Onewheel in Shenzhen?

From $35 a day (about ¥249) for the Onewheel Pint up to $55 a day for the Onewheel XRC. Daily rates: Pint $35, Pint X $42, XR $49 and XRC $55. Rentals of 3+ days get 10% off and 7+ days get 20% off. A refundable deposit ($200–$300) is added at checkout, and delivery costs $15 or $25 if you do not pick up yourself.

Is there a deposit?

Yes, a refundable security deposit is paid together with the rental: $200 for the Pint, $250 for the Pint X and $300 for the XR and XRC. When the board comes back undamaged we refund it in full to your card within 24 hours; your bank usually shows it within 5–10 business days. At handover we also check your passport and take a photo of it, as rental shops do worldwide.

Which Onewheel should I rent?

First time on a Onewheel: the Pint, the lightest and easiest to learn. A full day along Shenzhen Bay: the Pint X, which has about twice the Pint’s range in the same small size. Already a rider: the XR or XRC, with a longer deck and bigger tire for stability and carving.

Can I take the board to Hong Kong?

No. Boards stay in mainland Shenzhen. Hong Kong restricts electric mobility devices, including on the MTR, so please do not take a rental across the border.

What is the best time of year to ride, and what about rain?

October to April is the most comfortable: dry, sunny and 15–28 °C. Summer is hot and humid, so ride in the morning or after sunset. Do not ride in heavy rain; if rain is forecast, change your dates for free at least 24 hours ahead.
